I went home from work right after getting there today, sent my wife on a plane out of town,, and proceeded to check out Green lake for maybe some fall trout. Nope.. no trout for me today. I was in my float tube. I very slowly trolled around a nightcrawler with no weight. Then I went the crawler under a bobber, again no weight. Then I sat on some power bait shaped marshmellow looking things about 3' off the bottom. Of course this time of year the lake was empty of people.
Cloudy sky, water was freakin' COLD. I will say that even in this very cold time of year, I have almost never seen the carp so active. They were in schools of like 10 or so. Just roaming in groups along the surface. And of course if you know this lake, the carp are hawgs. I was so mad at myself because I forgot my corn. If you go, bring your neoprene and wool socks.
