Any advice on ice fishing out on sprague? I am thinking about going out for the first time this weekend. Can you just walk out towards the middle of the lake and drill a hole and fish? I'v e noticed in people's reports that they use swedish pimples and worms, can you use power bait like fishing from shore. Doesn't seem like it would be that effective, floating verticle and such. Any info will help, thanks.

You kinda have to know sprague a little bit. There are alot of submerged islands, drop offs, shelfs and various structure. For instance if your fishing out infront of the pump house shack your not likely to have much luck since in the winter its just a real long flat 2-6 feet deep with nothing to it. That was the best walleye drifting on the lake before they made it a real lame trout lake I might add.

I can tell you if you walk out to the island from the public launch then move east about 60 yards theres a submerged island. Continue east just past that island where it drops off and you will find fish. Post a map and I'll X it in for ya. =) Thats the only honey hole I'll give out on that lake.
