Great day on the lake a little slow at times but well worth the cold wind blowing straight down the river. Daughter caught two trips about pound and a half each and I caught two one trip right at five pounds and one about three or so.

Conditions were cold(20s) windy and low clouds and fog.

We were using Chartreuse Power Eggs and Fl Red Nugget with about eighteen inches to tow feet of leader and egg sinker.

Started fishing about 6:30am and limited out by 10:30am and then stayed around to BS with the cool guys I met.

Highlight of the the day was meeting Blufin Loui ( hope I got the spelling close) and Jeremy, Sam, John and Adam. Was a real pleasure talking to you all and hope you all caught lots of fish.

Be safe on your travels and keep them reeling in.

It was great to see Your Daughter enjoying herself catching fish. Cold day but she was out there with the Big Dogs. She knew her way around the fishing hole. Keep up the good work
Nice fish you had, and was cool of ya to share tips and techniques for the RW trout.

Yeah she loves the fishing until she catches her fish then its all play time lol. As for sharing tips on fishing it is what its all about. By the way did you happen to get my message about my ax and happen to see them? I emailed them some pics I took and told them if they got it that all was well and they could enjoy it. I went and bought a hatchet for fishing and camping today and will get a new ax this spring.

I will try and do another report Tuesday after I get home from going down again.

By the way that 5# Trip looked more like a salmon meat wise than any other trip i and ever caught so I may just bake that one. Any good reciepes?

Sorry, not a bakin sort of guy, We be from the South, and fry, fry, fry. My wife, Cindy usually fixes the ones we eat fresh on a George Foreman grill. She uses lemon pepper and butter, will coat with lemon pepper--to taste-then add a little to the fillet about half way through cooking. works pretty good for us.
I wasn't able to get back up there, so didn't see the guys. I'm sure they have a great lil axe now.
look forward to your next post.

where were you fishing? I was out there on the 17th fishing from shore by Joseph Dam. We got skunked except for all the rock fish (snaggs). They were 5 of us we didnt stay long ended up leaving and trying up near Coulee.

blufin that sounds like an awesome recipe and should try it. My grandmother was from the south and she fried everything too lol. I will out there again tomorrow and try for a bigger one.

i have no idea where we were fishing. The first hour or so was by the boat launch at the Cheif Joesph Dam but the second half of the day i have no idea where we were. . We just drove along the highway saw a good spot hiked down made a fire and fished. The Fish and Game guy said that we were close to Coulee Dam. I need to do a little more research on this lake and fish it more.

thanks for the invite!! I'm home now back in seattle but we are trying to get back out there in a few months and try again. It's not a bad drive out there once you know where it is. We got lost on the way out there and it took us 8hrs to find our cabin!

I'm a believer in baking trout. I usually squeeze lemon over the flesh then season with salt, pepper, Mrs. dash, dill, or whatever you prefer, then bake @ 400 degrees in a foil covered baking dish for about 20-30 minutes. On the bbq I follow the same procedure, but put the fish in a foil pouch.

Robert,
We did catch a few (7) that same day. yesterday was very slow. I lost one that Sam hook-up on later in the day. Adam was the winner of the trip. On day one, he landed a 3.75 lb trout then yesterday he landed a nice 5.5. Keep my email and email me when you are on this side. Sam has your ax. We were hoping you would have came back by while we were fishing. Thanks for taking the Picks.

Jeremy

Glad you guys at least caught some. Did you do catch them all in that spot?
I tried getting back down there just got busy doing home stuff and honey do's. Me and my buddy are going down tomorrow (tuesday) and hope we can limit out.
Tell Sam to enjoy the ax and hope he can get a lot of use out of it.
Where do you normally fish over there. When I go over in August of every year I go out with my stepdad on his boat for silvers around Bush Pt . Maybe you can teach a few of your tricks for that side.
When does Sam leave?

I will keep in touch you guys where all cool to hang out with was nice making new friends.

Sam is to be leaving a week from today. I was checking my email, but there were no photos. If it is not too much to ask, can you please send them again. here is my email address. jeremy.binz@hotmail.com

I will tell him about the ax. Just drop me a line when you are heading out this way and I would be more than happy to meet up with you and wet another line with you.
The secod day we were across the way from your spot where Sam and Adam caught their limits, Adam with the 5.5 pounder. After I get the photos up loaded, I'll send them your way
