I am finally fully equipped with a boating package and decided to visit my hometown lake of Ballinger. The time of day was ill-advised to actually catch fish (3pm), but my girlfriend and I had a late start. North portion of lake by ballinger nine golf course is scarce. Maybe some bass luck there. I trolled a pink dicknite with power bait (this method has previously landed me about 6 trout in 2 hours), however did not even get a bite. Provided I was only there for 2 hours, I am not overly disappointed. Ballinger can be an abundant lake, typically following the plants. This lake is fished frequently, thus very little fish remain to be caught. I am excited for the upcoming plants. Does anyone know the exact dates? I hope to be on spring break so I can live on the water. Happy fishing!
