I started fishing North Cove Park at about 2:30 and caught one by about 3:00. It was all downhill after that.. but the scotch was great. I met a couple of cool guys while I was there and learned a bit from them. It turns out that they are members here as well. I know pretty much nothing about fishing so it's nice to meet people that I can learn from. Last Sunday was my first time fishing this spot and I got three in the same time span so today was much slower. I was using bright orange powerbait with a treble hook.

Dude nice fish. My friend and I fished Stevens for about five hours that day, (we were in the boat by the dock just before you left). I caught my limit and my friend caught a nice one. We were using pink power eggs. Tight Lines!

Thanks guys! I baked that fish in some foil with some butter, lemons, lemon pepper, and basil tonight. It tasted great. I went out again today but I got stuck on something and snapped my rod. I ran home and got my daughter's 2 foot "Dora the Explorer" pole and headed back out. I didn't catch anything but a guy like me does look pretty silly with a pole like that. I'm getting a new rod and reel this weekend after payday; so if anyone has something good that they want to sell let me know. I might be heading out this weekend with the family. I hope to see you guys there. Hey fishslayer425, how about a free fishing charter on your boat? :)

The boat actually belongs to my friend, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind having you out with us. Always nice to have more people to go fishing with : )

I'm going to try using a float the next time that I go out. I have no idea how to use one but I'll google it. Mica, I shot you an email about buying a rod. If I get paid this Friday I should have some cash.

Smoked 1, Try a bobber and a piece of worm. Run it about 4' deep below the bobber. The standard old red and white large bobbers work great. Keep a close look at the bobber and strike it as soon as you see bobber movement. Had great luck with this set up. Good luck!

Just read one more thing. If your pole is to heavy run down to lake stevens and visits Gregs Custom rods. He has some great small trout rods with a reel for about $20.00 bucks. Plus he is very friendly and has tons of helpful advice.
