Well, got out to the water at about 11:00 started fishing for crappie where there was lots of structure. Didnt catch any. Cold, sunny and windy. Used black, and chartruse 1/16 ounce jig under a bobber. So as my luck turned down hill i put on a silver and red mepps. Caught a nice 10'' to 12'' trout. threw it out as fast as i caught it (dont like trout personaly.) I wish a caught some slabs but, hey the water was only 44 degrees once that water hits 50 degrees, the crappie better watch out. Good luck. Crappie tips would be very much appreciated.

try using a jig head with nothing on it under a bobber then out a magot or worm

Thanks for the report. I know you said you weren't a trout guy but was curious if you saw anyone catching trout with any consistency? It was supposed to have been planted with 6000 trout on 03-23-09. Thanks again.

yes dave, about 4 or 5 guys were fishing at the boat launch, we were loading up our boat and they were just nailing them with spinners and power bait eggs. they were also jumping like crazy. the size of the trout were only 8-10 inches.

I love to fish this lake try using small red head with white tail tubs tiped with a magot. It gets better when its warmer. About a foot or 2 under a small very small bobber they dont like much resistance. I like to pop it a few than let it sit and then pop it again. Good luck to all

Yoi guys are talking my favorite fish! great tips by the way. Sometimes a white 3/4" micro grub works awesome. An olive green skirt with red and black flake is killer in clear or off green water. Also try smoke salt and pepper/ silver flake skirt or maybe my favorite, a Berkley 2" Smelt micro minnow on a 1/16th oz Gitzit little tough guy (minnow colored) jig head. I will include some pictures of the jigs later. The Jigmiester
