Gave it a try out on the big lake today in my 14 footer mostly to try my new Lowrance color sonar unit. Tried some dropshoting and football heads for smallies around the Magnuson area. Weather was beautiful and we saw a couple other guys fishing Webster point so tried it and the pillars on 520, but never got a bite or saw any fish caught. Targeted the 20-30ft zone, but the water temps are still about 48 and I am very unfamiliar with bass fishing the lake, but the new sonar is a gret help for finding the bruch and structure. We get some more days like this and the water temps will rise then I think I will have a better shot at getting a more agressive fish and eventually bedding fish.

It's a 510c I got a really good deal on it at Cabelas it was like $329. Its on a 14ft Westcoaster welded V so its about perfect for the size of boat. I love the color display its very clear I'm sure the HD is even better. I'm still getting it dialed to not show surface clutter and give good readings on plane, but I am very happy with it so far. Do you know if you speed up the ping speed that makes the readings better when on plane?

wouldn't a no-fish day be a 1 red square rating rather than two?

i'm glad to hear the weather was good. we had quite a bit of wind here in Enumclaw last night and this morning so I opted against a lk washington trip myself.

Manual say it helps to increase the ping when moving faster across the lake or fishing still (like from a dock). Kind of weird! I just live it on auto settings!
