Was hoping it had warmed up enough to finally try some bass fishing and glad i did.I saw about 5-7 real nice smallies in the shallows. And Caught a couple of TOADS on back to back cast off the same rock. They went 4.5 and 5.1 lbs.fished from 9-1pm.Gave today a 4 cause of the size not the number of fish.
While trolling in at the end of my day i hooked into a nice 2# trout. It was beautiful and i believe it was a holdover.

Smallies caught drop-shotting a 6" roboworm.
Trout caught trolling a j-5 rapala

Those are awesome fish! Great job. It makes me excited to get out there again, but my luck has been horrible. What color roboworm were you using?

Nice toads! Looks like it's time to start fishing for bass! Given the unseasonably cool weather, I'm surprised that smallmouth have already moved into the shallows. SWEET!

i dont think the color is crucial.I have caught them on lots of different colors in this lake.Go with what you're confidant with.
