I arrived at the east pier around 1:00 pm. There was a couple there that had been there since 6 am. They both caught thier limits about and hour or more after I got there. I used power eggs and orange power bait. I caught 3 stocked rainbows the whole time I was there. I left around 530 pm. I saw two people use white marshmallows with nightcrawlers. They did not get any bites at all. The last hour I was there, two dudes used power bait and didnt get any bites. I was windy all day and it made it real hard to tell if I was getting nibbles. I missed one bite and lost one trout that jumped in the air. The hook popped out. I didnt set the hook because the fish took the bait and swam towards the shore. I thought that the waves moved my sinker and I was reeling in, only to realize i had a fish on. Does any body know if the bites were slow because of the time i was fishing, or because of the cold front moving through?
