First time at Lake Morton.
Lots of fishermen crowding the launch area. I began slow trolling powereggs and caught a couple right away. I figured I better switch up if I was going to be able to last long enough to get some sun. I put on a olive bead-headed wolley bugger. To my surprise fishing really hit high gear. I couldn't even get my line out all the way and there would be fish pounding on my fly. I caught them one right after another and they were still pounding on it even after they tore the hackle and most of the feathers off of it.
There were a couple of other boats out there and they both mentioned the brown stain on top of the water that they attributed to an algae bloom. I kept the eye hooked fish and left with a limit. Fish were rolling and biting all over the lake.
