So there we were.... Great start to a good story huh? Well here is my report. Tried big lake for the first time ever and it was everything but too exciting. Although the trout were jumping, the bass werent hitting. My buddy had a nice 3-4 lber on and lost in within the first half hour and then no more for bass. Did manage to snag two trout on 3/8 and 1/2 oz. spinner baits. First for me. Both were hoocked deep and damaging so took them home for the pan. The trout were caught in 6-8' of water and the bass in about 3' around small lilly pads. I think we got to the lake just a bit too late today to really hit the bass but it was fun none the less. Another beautiful day on the water. Hope to get out early next week after all the trout hunters get all the plants after this weekend. Good luck and have fun!!
