4/26/2009 9:28:00 PMIn my report I didn't mention that at the launch, sitting right next to the cement launch pad was a nice gentleman who told me there were about 60 boats on the water opening day. I can't imagine that mess. Grin. I also noticed there was a city representative there wearing a reflective vest and a marked police unit drove through as I was approaching the launch to in my boat to leave. I also noticed they had 2 barricades there and some yellow caution tape attached to them that looked like they were used on the first day to prohibit folks from parking right on top of the launch area. The launch area also had new signs (at least I don’t remember them being there last season) reminding folks not to block the launch, and I saw the no combustion engine signs as well. I'm glad you had a good trip. I am sure I will have better experiences there in the near future. On my way out as I drove by Erie, I noticed there were lots of boats on that lake as well. At about 6:25 when I drove by Erie heading to Heart there were three boats on Erie, all at the deeper end of the lake.
