Bob and I decided to try some bass fishing monday morning before we left. Bob caught this 5 1/2 pounder on a plastic worm. It was a nice suprise. After the photo the fish was released for someone else to catch. Our big fish totals for 4 days was 4 for Bob, 3 for me, 2 for hooked another, and 1 for Steve. It was a great weekend of fishing. We didnt catch a bass but it still was a great day. After a few hours we switched to crappie fishing. We marked several fish but they were pretty tight lipped. We still managed to get some and a couple of perch also. I hope everyone has a great year of fishing!

Wonder if that fish survived? They usually don't after they stick your fingers through their gills. Oh well, damn nice fish.

very beautiful fish there, i agree. If you are going to release a trout you need to get your hands wet before you touch it and never ever jam your fingers in the gills like that. Hold it with both hands on the bottom of the body. Still nice looking fish. Stay safe out there.

Very nice fish! Here's a heads up if you're looking for bass. My friend Joey and I fished Duck Lake on opening day. We were at the dock by the south boat launch and had 4 lg. mouth up to 3 lbs trying to eat every trout that we caught. A couple of the bigger bass actually had some of the smaller trout in their mouths before we could haul them up on the dock. If it were me I'd be fishing the docks with Senko's, Sluggo's, or some kind of stick bait in a trout pattern. Just a thought.
