GOT BLEW OFF BLUE LAKE OPENING DAY SO DECIDED TO TRY DEEP. HAD ON THE RAPALA LURE I WAS USING AT BLUE THE DAY BEFORE.
20 MINUTES IN CAUGHT THE FIRST FISH, A 20 INCH BOW. LOST IT AT THE BOAT. FIGURED IT WAS THE BIG FISH FOR THE DAY, SO VERY DISAPPOINTED. 20 MINUTES LATER, ANOTHER BIG BOW. 22 INCHES. DIDN'T LOOSE THIS ONE.
ENDED THE DAY AT 1PM. CAUGHT AND RELEASED 15 18-22 INCH RAINBOWS.
WENT BACK IN THE EVENING AND THE NEXT MORNING AND NOTHING. CAUGHT A COUPLE OF 10 INCH PLANTERS BUT NO BIG FISH.
FUNNY THING THAT WHEN THE BIG FISH WERE BITING, NO SMALL FISH. THE BITE LASTED ABOUT 6 HOURS AND THAT WAS IT.
BEST DAY OF TROUT FISHING I EVER HAD.

You are the only person that has reported catching fish of that size on deep lake in 2009.............. do you have picture? How deep were you running that rapala? any smelly jelly or anything?
