After fishing Pine in the morning, the missus asked me to take the kid fishing -- poor me. Decided to go out to Ballinger for the afternoon. Fished from 3 to 5pm. Not long after leaving the shore, the daughter gets all excited and reels in a little 7 inch stocker on her all pink pole with LED lights on the reel that light up when spinning. :) First one on that fancy pole, woooo. Tried to get a photo, but the little guy wiggled off the hook, and she would not hold it, so back in the drink it went.

About 10 seconds after we release it, a big bald eagle swoops down and snatches it up. Very close to us -- awesome.

She caught hers on a small rainbow roostertail with a chartruese skirt. So I decided to go with a roostertail, but mine was bigger and green. I got several bumps but no hook ups on that. Finally, before pulling out, I put out the trusty green wedding ring behind pop gear, and quickly boat my own little stocker. Tried to get a picture of him, but he too wiggled off the hook, so decided to let the poor thing swim again.
