My buddy and I took my five year old out on the boat today. A little windy but beautiful day for fishing otherwise. Started trolling some flatfish and spinners. Had 2 hits each but no dice. After seeing no surfaces for about a half hour we decided to throw on some powerbait. Nothing for about an hour until we found the hot color of the day. Once we got that color on the rods we couldn't keep the fish away. The only problem was that they were just playing with it. Had lots a nibbles before the bait even hit the bottom. This lake has fish with very soft mouths, so setting the hook usually pulls it out. Caught 5 total. Nothing of any size. Kept one 13" cause we couldn't get the hook loose. All others released unharmed. This is always a fun little lake. When the bit is on its HOT. When its cold; good luck getting a bite. Good Luck all!
