I had a great experience at Martha Lake. I am a fly-fishermen and noticed that other then us real fishermen, the cheeters (bait- fishermen), were not catching anything. I caught 7 fish total in about 3 hours. Usually the fish only take powerbait, but this year no wimpy triploids were planted so all the fish fought real hard. I arrived at about 8 pm and was in my float tube. If you are looking straight off of the boat launch and to the right there is a underwater spring and that is where the fish hang out. (well, the fish i like to catch. I caught two stock 12 inchers on the way over there using size 12 wooly buggers (no tails, sinking tip line). And trolling that shoreline out about 50 yards I caught one 16 incher and a 18 incher, both rainbow. I switched to sinking line to catch these rainbows and used size 8 olive green wooly bugger that I bought from Teds sporting goods. they have the best stuff if you don't tie your own. near the same spot is a huge tree that is over hanging and I caught three smallmouth bass with an imitation mouse. two tiny ones and one that was about 2 lbs. ! It was a great trip. I stayed past dark and enjoyed the calm lake. good luck fly-fishers.
