Made it to the lake about 5:00 pm Sunday afternoon, a little windy but not unfishable. Found a on the east side of the lake, anchored up in about 25 feet of water. Started fishing about 6:00 first fish by about 6;15, had 8 in the boat by 8:30 and finished with 14 by 9:30. Could not seem to catch the last one to make a limit but had a great time with the wife and daughter. It seemed to work best to cast to shore and find the weeds, once out of the weeds is when we seemed to get lots of bites. We did not see the trollers catch any at all, it was kind of funny one sled kept trolling by us and I think each pass he made by we caught one. Maybe it was the cans of corn he kept throwing out, I don't know but we kept catching and he just kept trolling and not catching..

I just got back from McMurray myself (5-26-09). I fished it three times in the last 5 days and caught all three of my limits trolling. Good to hear fish biting both on bait and for me, trolling. I found the fish holding north of the stump that sticks out of the water, north of the launch. I had consistent bites using a wedding ring and worm behind a chrome 3/0 dodger. Anyway, nice to read a good report from a fellow member fishing the same lake. I also found the fish very tasty which was a plus. No muddy flavor at all. I also read a report from a member earlier in the weekend who stated the fish he caught had worms. I never saw that with the fish I caught. Anyway, thanks for your report.

Mom got a few and the rest are in the smoker as I type. We were on the east side of the lake just past the last house..Fun times...
