Went out to Sammammish with my 23 yr old daughter. She and I have gone out several times and she has not caught one fish yet. For that matter niether have I. Sammammish was no different today. We tried evrything a body could throw into the water. Jigs, spinnerbaits, softbaits hard baits around the docks in 5 feet of water, in 20 feet of water. In the north end by the pilings . We were everywhere on that lake. I even tried drop shots. Usually for me, if nothing else works, that does. Couldn't even get a strike. We even tried to fish for perch. I always can catch perch. Gave her the ultra lite with a spinner grub. No luck. tried everything in my bag with no results.I know that the fish are there because I see them on my Lowrance. Unless I'm reading it wrong or there is something wrong with it. I don't know where everyone else is catching the fish but It's hard to believe it is here. The best thing about today is having my little girl with me on the boat. I would love to see her face bringing in a 3 lb smallie!

Eightball,
I'm not any great bass fisherman, but my son and I do well on some pretty nice perch on the NE end of the lake right of the line of pilings that are marked with red cones. Be careful as some of the submerged ones are inches from the surface.

if your at sammaish you should go up the hill to beaver or pine they are great lakes went to both last weeknd for the first time and caught 4 at pine and 6 at beaver between 9 am to 12:30 pm all 10 to 12 inchers. at pine i caught the fish if your facing the lake to the left of the boat launch and at beaver i just trolled down the middle of the lake. so good luck next time

eightball, don't give up on bass in Sammamish, they are definitely in there, but I'll tell you that right now it's flat out tough fishing for everyone! Alot of the smallies that were locked on beds are now finishing up and starting to move out a bit deeper. The females are definitely out deeper but they are mostly recovering and are in a pretty solid postspawn stage right now, and not eating much. You can see fry everywhere in the shallows and it only takes about 3 days from the time the fish lay there eggs to the time the fry actually hatch, so they are all over the place right now. Most of the fish that are still on beds are the ones that have either been caught already or small ones that are moving in now that the bigger fish are outta there. Males are guarding fry but even they aren't all that aggressive either. Give it about two weeks and then go back with the same tactics you used, and I predict you will have much better success. Also, at that time throw a topwater like a spook or a sammy into your arsenal first thing into the morning as well! Good luck out there! - Dave
