I arrived at Shady Lake around 5:30 am. There were already four boat launch anglers and 10 boats in the water. I caught three stockers with red power eggs with a 5 ft leader from the boat launch.

Soon after catching the third one, I decided to help an older gentleman launch his boat. He then offered to take me out on his boat. This was my chance to catch some bigger ones with lures in deeper water. I was using a blue 1/8 oz armadillo spinner from fishcreekspinners.com. I caught my first fish ever on a lure. The trout were hitting the spinners hard. Several were released and some came off the hook before getting to the boat. The black and green armadillo spinners also caught fish.

We both limited and called it a day around 730am. The undercover game warden was there complete with a boat, rods and a fishing net.
