Hit up wilderness again with Danny and a new fishing buddy Chris. We fished from about 2:45-4:00 and only caught two fish total. Danny brought in a fairly nice yellow perch while I only caught a small little bullhead. I don't know when those bullheads were introduced into that lake. i've only started to see them this year. they're so annoying, always eating my bait..

but anyway, i was mostly after bass, yet i had nothing to show by the end of the day. we fished the public side, on that little point next to the boat launch. as i was working the tall bushes along the bank with a popper i witnessed a guy in a boat also working the bank get a huge hit on a topwater bait, i think it was either a frog or mouse. he missed the hookset but 5 casts later he gets another hit and then brings up a hefty bass, no less than 6 pounds. i've never seen one so big come out of this lake. hope to get one of those soon myself.

my cousin caught one nearly 8lbs a few summers ago stalking beds along the shore, it's good to hear nice fish are still coming out this lake. how's the trout fishing doing? those bullheads are new to me too.

Interesting, all the former posts on this lake describe the bass on the smaller side "dinks"..Maybe I will have to give it a go for perch and bass.

I would like to chime in like I do every year or couple of months on this subject....there are HUGE BASS in this lake...I've seen em'...most recently was last Friday, which was a skunk day for my self, but my homie and I saw a bass that was about 2 ft long and it just cruised right by us like we were'nt even there! There are perch, but I've only caught them over by the community center....other than that...I'm very dissappointed to hear about bullheads...I've fished this lake for 5 straight years and never seen one....interesting....

juscallmetoad- the trout fishing is alright, i can't complain much. they've definitely gotten smaller over the years though. i remember 3 years ago pullling out 18-20 inchers on average. now i usually just get 12-14 in.

Rob G. yeah i've been fishing this lake for many years myself and i have just started seeing these sculpin/bullhead things this year. hopefully they won't cause too much of a problem, and serve more as a new baitfish for the bass than anything else.
