Well, I finally caught a fish today, first trout of the year. I got to the lake about 5:00, fished till about 7:00. First, I was using some Powerbait floating about 2-3 feet off the bottom. Thats how I caught my fish. Then I got my line stuck on something underwater, and it snapped. I didn't have much line, so I used a liter that only floated 8-12 inches off the bottom. It didn't work too well. Only got one nibble after that. The trout that I caught was decent size though, 10-12 inches, so I'm happy.

Good for you, buddy! Try using 2-4 lb. test leader about 3-4 feet long. You'll get bit more and catch more. This works well at Bradley for me with power bait. (Rainbow, Spring Green, and Yellow ) Take advantage of "NO ADULTS" allowed here while you can. If you ARE over 15, please respect the kids' time and allow the stockers to grow a bit! You'll be happier when you hook that 3 pounder later! Also, it's been too sunny so fish in most area lakes are closer to the bottom. The water is almost too warm for them to be on top unless you get there right at dawn or stay till the bugs come out at dusk. Tight lines, wind in your face, check your knots, and follow your fish!!!
