Met BassDood out at Long Lake. Was a bit breezy but BassDoody said "oh this is nothing." Well my legs this morning beg to differ ... lol. Fished using the swim senko and a flapping shad. Had a hit pretty close to right away with the flapping shad. Then about 3.5 hours later had my next hit. The second one will haunt me. Though I didn’t see the fish it was the biggest hit I have ever felt. It was like my lure hooked into a brick wall. I have snagged a log or a dock before and this was not that. I thought about that fish on my way home, while I tried to fall asleep, while I slept and when I woke up. That fish has me wanting to get back out there more than when I caught my PB or when I caught two 3 pounders on back to back casts. Yes ... my name is Jay and I am a Bassahaolic. Thank you Jerry for being my sponsor. Jerry did hook into a very feisty 4 pounder and missed another one. Not sure if the rapid change of weather had anything to do with anything but the bite was not really one. I did get to work some swim bait type of lures and am excited about that prospect.

I know the feeling you are describing all to well.... I also know it is almost impossible to fall asleep that night..... All the times I hooked that powerful of fish I was unfortunate enough to see them also! This defiantly amplifies the regret and heart break!

Better luck next time....

All the more reason to go back and find him or her again. I know the feeling. I lost the biggest smallmouth I have ever seen yesterday. I will be back there next week. Same spot, same bait. This time I'll have new braided line and he will be mine!!!
Then I'll let him go.

Happy fishing

I felt bad as I know that feeling all too well like a lot of us do. I still have fish that haunt me from years back. Like you guys said...it keeps you going back. Ahh the addiction. Your day is coming my friend. Thanks again, Jay

Yea Tent ... I won't make it back to your lake. If you see that Caddis tube floating around it must just be an optical illusion. Trent just drink plenty of water and stay in bed.
