went out to the middle of cottage laker around 8pm. caught a couple decent rainbows within the hour. around 10pm i caught a monster that i assumed was a rainbow trout but it was bigger than any rainbow ive ever caught at cottage. it also had noticeably sharper teeth for what thats worth. and the meat was darker red than the trouts usually are. my friend said it may be a silver or a kokanee. does anyone know what it is? picture is included. i was using a bobber with a worm on it

Well I don't know. It actually looks like a small chinook to me. Thanks for the report, nice fish whatever it is.

its not a steel head (rainbow trout thats been to see and back), its not a chinook (king salmon), if you look at the jaw line it has black gums and black mouth that it has; as well as the fork in the tail. this is a kokanee other wise known as a sockeye salmon if it were to go to sea. i caught several last season

master caster it is a small cutt. notice under the mouth there is a red slit. and its jaw goes slightly over its mouth.
