Had to work a half day, and had to be home by 4pm. So I headed south to Badger lake.
It was a windy unsettled day.
One shore fisher, one other empty trailer at the ramp.
Hit the water.. Just past the power lines I hit the 1st fish.. 10 mins into trolling.
Nice 4.25 rainbow.. Nice jumper and fighter.
20 mins later I landed a 17 in cut.
2 fish was all I needed for dinner tonight, so I changed things up a bit.
This year is the 1st since 1999 that I fished the lake.
I'd wonder, Had bass made it back into the lake?
1st cast trying for bass I had my answer.
A nice fat bellied LM.. Just under 2 pounds, but shaped like a crappie.
I landed 5 more in 45 mins before the winds really picked up and I figured it was time to head home.
I'm not sure how others are doing on Badger, But I feel this lake will still kick out easy limits.
When selectling a lure for this lake I picked one that would match what I felt many fish in the lake wold be eating.
Care to guess? Careful if It was real it would pinch ya...
