Finally got a day off from work so i decided today would be a good day to put the kayak out on haller lake near my house. Started out trolling a bugger for half a lap around the lake but with no hits i decided to try something else. Tied on a floating rapala and twitched it along the surface off of lily pads and docks. The first bass was about 10 inches. The second one hit hard on the surface right as the lure hit the water. It put up a great fight and turned out to be maybe 18ish inches i think and pretty fat, although i didnt have any ruler or scale. No idea what it weighed. After that i caught 8 or so more in the 8 to 10 inch range and missed many more strikes. I also tried trolling for trout with a panther martin but no luck there. I marked a lot of fish deep in the middle on the fish finder guess theyre proabably trout or perch or something. The water temp was 72, sky was clear and no wind. sorry the picture isnt great it was my cell phone and i was juggling paddle, phone and fishing rods.
