I didn't know there were carp in the lake. I wonder how they got there?

Man, I should have gone there yesterday, instead of Medical where I was skunked!!! At least W. Medical's still producing. I'm guessing that was a tench, not a carp.....there are some similiarities.

I did not know there were carp in there either, but I can sure see it happening. So before I turn this into a forum thread, let me first say good report mm6and60. You guys need to take up bow fishing for carp, well maybe just go along with someone who does. This knowledge was something I had, but have again confirmed this spring at Rock Lake, when bowfishing for carp in the shallows near the outlet, wading among the boiling fish. When carp spawn, the eggs are as sticky as super glue - they will stick to pants, skin, shoes, and duck feathers. The ducks fly off, land in a near-by lake, and the eggs, which have now created a thin protective coat on them, drop into the water, rehydrate, and hatch a few days later. Despite what we have been told, or led to believe, carp are transplanted more by wildlife then by fishermen, followed only by natural water access where carp can migrate. If it was indeed carp, then we can expect that lakes near by also have them, and, to the best of my knowledge, many of the shallow slews in the area do.

I have caught quite a few Tench this season. The biggest was about 2 pounds.
