I haven’t been fishing at this lake in maybe 30 years. I have only rowed it using the rental boats from the resort (now gone). Therefore, this was an exploration. I trolled around the lake twice. I kept getting bites on the wedding ring tipped with nightcrawler. They were just getting the nightcrawler off. I finally got 2 to bring home. It was breezy and cloudy with a few sprinkles. I started around 10am and finished at 2:00pm. There were little fish jumping all over the lake. They were silver and about 3-5 inches long. I hooked one on a trolled fly that was 5 inches long and about 3 inches thick. It had dark blue back and silver sides. It was trout (or salmon) like, without spots. Are these hatchery plants or natural? Anyone know what they are?

Hello Toni, next time you catch one, run your finger along the gum line. No teeth, with the rest of your description, would sure sound like kokanee. Good fishin' to you. Larry

they are just planted rainbows, koks are not planted in clear lake, unless you are at the clear lake in pierce county off of meridian down the road a ways for northwest trek, this lake is not deep enough nor cold enough to support kokanees, but they do plant a ton of frys so who knows what exactly all the fry species acually are, hence our wonderful fish and game experts..........
