I have never been to this lake before. After one wrong turn I did make it there and I was on the lake at 9am. I trolled using flashers and a wedding ring tipped with a maggot. I started having bites right away. I couldn’t hook ‘em though. I switched to a Zak mini worm and then hooked my first rainbow. After a while longer I switched to a red wedding ring tipped with nightcrawler and took off the flasher. I got 2 more after that. I left at noon because it was too hot for me. This lake seems to have fish all over. The fish finder showed fish over every square foot of the lake. There didn’t seem to be any where that there weren’t fish. I have never been to a lake that had fish everywhere. The ‘bows I caught were 10-12 inches.
There is some bank fishing at the launch. They were using power eggs and they caught more fish than I did. It is also a popular place for swimming but no speed boats or water skiing while I was there, which is a bonus for fishing.

Yes, there are a lot of trout in that lake. But I am thinking that you may be seeing the thermocline on the graph rather than fish. This lake is very deep and very clear. The temps vary from very warm at the surface to very cold at the bottom. The water density also varies accordingly. So, what you may be picking up is the gradient between warm and cold layers with different densities. Very common on Eagle fish finders since the fish ID is tuned to pick up densities and a standard graph will show arcs only.

I took the wife to this lake once, also had trouble finding it. I caught one trout and my wife gave up on fishing. End of story :) Thanks for the report.
