After hearing rumors of a 7 pound Brown being caught the previous week thought I'd give this lake one more chance.Saw the picture at the resort,beautiful fish.Maybe they weighed it and I'm wrong and its maybe just hard to tell from a pic but I would have estimated at around five pounds.Still a once in a lifetime fish around here.Anyways,arrived at 6:15 am,water was dead calm.surface temp was 72.Bright sunny,hot day.George at the resort said silver rooster tails were killing them the day before.Trolled all the way around with one and nothing.Trolled a Rapala,Flatfish,a homemade spinner,nothing.Broke out the fly pole and trolled a black and then an olive wooly bugger all over,nothing.Tried worms and power eggs under bobbers and free floating and(you guessed it)...nothing.Saw VERY few fish on the fish finder.Only ones I saw were over by the farm house about 10 feet down in 15 feet of water.Saw one fish caught by a float tuber on a wooly bugger.Was a decent fish around 16 inches.
