This was my first trip to Potholes, but it definitely will not be my last. I've heard this place is a solid fishery and now I see why. I didn't catch many fish, but I still had a blast. After a few hours in various spots, I only pulled in one smallmouth on a white crankbait and one largemouth on a spinnerbait. I had a few other bites but missed them. The largemouth was a good one - check out the photo. Yes, I get a little too excited. The largemouth was caught in the dunes with a Lazer Eye black single colorado spinnerbait from Bass Pro Shops in the middle of the hot afternoon.
All in all, it was a beautiful way to spend the day on the fourth of July. I look forward to spending more time on this lake to figure out what the bass like.
