Got on the lake about 6 PM. Took a friend that had never bass fished before. Was a little windy to start with and he was getting a little frustrated, as he was having a hard time casting accurately. Hit the docks for a bit, and about the 3rd time we had to pull up to a dock to get his lure unwrapped from whatever obstacle he found on the dock, I tied on a 1/16 oz. jig head with a 2 1/2" Gulp minnow (shad color) and let out about 8' of line and no more set it in the rod holder when I had a crappie on. Fish was about 6 - 7 inches. Tossed him back in and put the rod back in the rod holder and didn't get sat down before I had another one exactly the same. This continued all evening. At least my buddy wasn't frustrated any more. We had a blast pulling in those crappie. I was using a little micro-lite outfit with 4 lb. line, so even the little ones were fun. Wound up catching crappie, several bream, a couple of 6 in. perch, and 6 or 7 little LM about 6 in. I couldn't get over how many fish we caught. It was literally non-stop until about 9:30 and we headed back to the wonderful launch facility. Did manage to land maybe 10 crappie that, if I had been keeping them, would have been put in the cooler. All the rest, and I'm guessing maybe 70 or 80 fish, were 7 in. or less, with quite a few 3 and 4 inch fish. Still quite a blast. All fish C&R. I'm gonna go back by myself and concentrate on the bass without worring about someone else's trip entertainment value. And definitely will be taking wife and daughter so they can have some fun too.

LOL, I understand the "guide syndrome" we get into when we take others out. I am planing a fishing trip this Saturday, but I don't know if anyone else is invited this time. Ooooops, did I say that? LOL

Yeah you did. Ha ha. I've always felt obligated to make sure when I take someone out that they have a good time and catch some fish, even at my own fish-catching expense. No biggie.

I've only been lurking at this site for a short time, AA, and have seen you take a little flack from time to time. Whether or not the flack has been justified, the way you respond to it is admirable. I like your style. We'll have to fish together sometime.
