Fished Yale on Saturday. This was my first time fishing this lake. Started fishing after noon for a couple hours and landed 4 kokanee between 12" and 14". They were beautiful. Had several more on the line but they got away. One of them felt like a real lunker. Me and my brother-in-law were fishing and at times both of us had a fish on the line. We never could land both at the same time. I wasn't expecting the action to be so steady. We only had a couple hours to try the lake out before the rest of our families wanted to ski and tube. We'll definately be returning. We cooked them up on Sunday and they were the best tasting kokanee I've had (I usually fish for them in eastern Washington and northern Idaho). Brilliant, deep pink meat. Found a cove on the north/west side of the lake near Yale park boat launch, next to a few large, beautiful homes. We used silver pop gear. By far the red wedding ring with two pieces of shoepeg corn and a gold blade out-performed anything else (fifty feet of line, or 33 pulls), and 2 ounces of weight. Trolled 1 to 1.5 mph (GPS).
