I was supposed to pre-fish Banks on Friday but my brother-in-law was in town and he wanted to fish for LM. He is from Florida and has not been home for 15 years (airforce) so he loves to fish for LM when given the chance. It was definitely his day. I prepped him for tough fishing but as it turned out it was not that tough for him. He started out the morning with a 5-12 and shortly after that swung a 5-5 over the rail. It was probably an hour or so later that he put another LM in the boat that went 4-12. When it was all said and done his best five went just over 20lbs. I on the other hand decided to try my hand at farming. As it turns out I am really good at farming evidenced by the fact that I farmed almost every fish I hooked that day. The one exception being all of the small bites I got. I put every one of those suckers in the boat. The two 5's were both caught on a spinner bait. The rest of the fish we caught were on lots of different stuff. I cuaght a few SM on a 6 inch hollow body swimbait in a perch pattern and a few on a sammy but nothing over 2.5 pounds for me. We did have some massive blowups on frogs during the heat of the day but never stuck any of them. I would love to tell you what the pattern was but we literally junk fished all day and picked up a couple of fish on two many different types of water to describe or be of any use to anyone. I typically post my pics but we had no camera and my cell phone quit taking pics after the 3rd time I dropped it in the lake. Personally I think Friday was a bit of a fluke for us. The fishing has been fairly tough for the last couple of weeks.

DC....wow! I have been getting a few 5 lb hawgs here and there but nothing near 20lbs for 5 fish. That is a tourney winning limit. Do you have any idea what the winning limit weighed at last weeks tournament? Great Job Man and only a three?

Toadwater- I didn't even realize I gave the day a rating until you mentioned it. I don't like the rating thing personally. I think every day I get to fish is a 5 star day.
dave- I always launch at the Spokane house launch because it is the only launch open at the time of morning I put in. Friday we fished around the Suncrest are which I rarely do. Most of the water I typically fish is downriver this time of year. I think that is the first time I have ever seen that many big fish come over the rail in July aside from Potholes. I hope my kids can catch a couple during the kids tournament this weekend.

The winning weight for the club tournament this weekend was 28 pounds for 2 days. My brother-in-law would have definitely been in the drivers seat after day one had he been able to pull that off on Saturday.
