Hit Rufus early Sunday morning. I've fished here often, but this is my first time to fish it during the summer months. Hit the water with my dad and his neighbor who are both newcomers, and we headed to the upper pens. We tied off next to the pens and tried all kinds of jigs, flies (including the pellet fly), and spoons/spinners all to no avail. There were fish all over the water, but they weren't biting for us or any of the other boats. We finally started drifting died shrimp right under the surface and got some action. Two fish just over 3 pounds and one just over 2. Also lost another that probably went about 3. Not a very good day for catching, but the lake was calm, the weather was awesome and I had a great time with my fishing buddies.
