There are Large Mouth all over this area! We started at the little boat launch around 10 and before we put in an disturbed the water we cast out a couple of jelly worms and got hits on each cast and landed a 1lb male on the second... We put the kayak in and first cast after we entered the canal, hooked and released a 1.5 lb male. With every paddle stroke we spooked 1 to 2 fish...Let me just say that the lake is very over grown at this time and it took us 45 mins of swamp like paddling to reach milfold infested open water. BUT THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! Of course by the time we got out there the overcast was gone and all we could do was watch huge boils when we spooked them...Not condusive to fishing this time of year. BUT, late fall and early spring should be a gem. I'm gonna give it a go then....Wish me luck.
