Woke up and hit Horseshoe at 5:00 am. Wanted to get the job done before that dang sun got too hot! I fished from a little dingy about 30 ft. away from shore. I used a trusty old beat up Rapala that I had used for Walleye slaying on the Spokane arm a few weeks ago. It looks like a beat up trout. With my wonderful wife rowing for me I stood up and did the damn thang! I flicked that Rapala and slammed the biggest Crappie of my life. He fought like a bass and I let out a good yelp to wake up the lake!! I can palm a basketball and have hot dogs for fingers and this crappie was bigger than my hand!! YEAH!!!! 5:15 am and I got a hog of a crappie in the basket. Today is going to be a good day!!
I left the Sony camera at home but my wife took a couple of pics with my phone. I will add them soon!! Anyways, I fished for about 2 hours until I saw my son standing in the upstairs window of our cabin. Went in and made some kill breaky and went back down to the water at about 10am. Threw the Rapala back in the bay out in front of our cabin and I caught 5 sun fish and 3 smallies that were strong fighters!! Biggest being 2 pounds!! I sure like this lake and look foward to rippin lips again!
3 hours fished. 3 smallies, 5 sunfish, 1 P.R. Crappie!!
Keep livin green!! I love fishin in Eastern Washingon
