8/9/2009 10:31:00 AMI'm not sure what you are referring to when you say that the scales came off . Does that mean that the fish are starting to "turn"?
I did ok about three weeks ago but last couple of trips were busts. Even in talking to others who were coming into the public launch when we did, they were having poor luck too. I have a small boat so don't like to venture clear across the lake to areas like the sockeye hole near Granite Pt. but has the bite been better on the S and E side of the lake? We've been fishing 30 ft of water on the NNE shore line. We've caught some large rainbows, some tigers and a lot of bluegills but very few kokes. Bluegills so thick we have trouble getting the bait down to the bottom. We don't want the trout or bluegills. I don't stay up until the wee hours just to fish for bluegills and trout . Would like to get a few kokes in the boat. Were you having trouble with the bluegills? Would appreciate any hints.

8/9/2009 10:47:00 AMI don't call catching 4 fish in 6hrs very good that is for sure. But we did get the biggest I ever seen come out of Loon. I have been skunked once there this year and a couple of times (lately) one or two per person. We have fished all over mostly on the South side of the first point on the west side of the lake as you come from the public launch. But my cousin has been doing OK in up to 50' of water between the NNE end and granite point. So we tried it thereand we found them at 44' to 40'.
I have been done really well at Capman starting at sundown at 50' coming up to 40' by 3:00 am over 110' foot of water. I am spending all my Kok time there from know on (?). It is a bit of a workout pulling up the anchor when done there that is for sure.
