Went to Offut on Saturday with the Family. We rented one of the Pontoon's, very nice, relaxing and plenty of room for the 4 of us. We got out on the water around 11am, and fished until around 3pm. We only caught 6 trout, but they were all nice size and fat. 2 were 12", 3 were 13", and then the last one of the day was the 17" fattie. When he pulled that thing up to the boat, we all went nuts. There's nothing cooler than seeing that look on a kids face. He caught his 4 with White power eggs, I caught my 2 with chartruse and pink. My girl tried bobber fishing, no luck. We just picked a few spots and anchored down, he used about a 3ft lead, I used about a 4ft.
Overall a great day at the lake, very relaxing, it wasn't crowded at all. It's our second time out this year at Offut, and the fishing has been good both times, and the people at the Resort are top notch. The best part was the guy telling us "don't go out for awhile, there's no fish out there"
hahaha That just motivated us more. This is the first time I've actually posted a report, but I felt it was time! Great day on the water, and the 6 we caught easily fed 5 of us for dinner.
I still can't believe he caught 4 with White! Oh well, he schooled me today. Boat rentals are $25 for 4 hours, or $69 for pontoon's for 4, they easily hold 5 people comfortably and are worth it.
