hey swayner23, dont be discouraged by Bitter Lake. I've caught a number of largemouth bass from here and that lake is loaded with rockbass. A simple worm and bobber can do the trick for the rockbass or a tiny jig might do some good too.
As for green lake...in my opinion is one of the least productive lakes around king county. You can have some fun with trout, just dunking some powerbait in, but again, not the most productive. Green lake is known to have an array of fish from Largies to crappie and all. The ones you were getting were most likely perch or sunfish following your lure but alot of times, they won't bite. Also, Shore fishing Green Lake for anything other than bass can be tough...its a pretty big lake! With that said, with some patience, you can actually access most of the lake shoreline unlike alot of other lakes.

If you do live in the area, do check out Snohomish! Pinks are running through the rivers pretty good lately from the reports I've been reading. There are some other lakes close by, Haller Lake is good for small largies. I've caught dozens from shore.

Check on Google Map and see if you can spot some lakes. They'll all most likely have some fish in it. Good luck

So, should a Yamamoto senko work or is the single hook with a worm and bobber better? I've been seeing what other guys are using on the site here trying to narrow it down. I suppose it just comes down to practice and getting familiar with a variety of situations. I live in the N. Seattle area, but a trip up north to catch some pinks is well worth it. When you get to Haller, the shore access is pretty limited. Its like 20ft wide, fenced off both left and right side. If you go during the day, its usually crowded with people swimming and stuff in that area so it sucks but if you go early morning or before the sun goes down, the shore can be fun fishing. You'll see both left and right side have patches of lilypads hugging the shore/fence. I've had alot of luck wacky rigging a 5" senko and casting it on the edges of the pads. I've had days where I'd catch a small 8-12" bass literally every other cast. Haller is great if u have a tube or a pontoon but if you wanna do some quick 30 minute fishing from shore, it can be fun.

I tried the Green Lake too, two days in a row, late evening and early morning, from the same dock you said. What the lake produced was only a bunch of hullheads and sunfish. Last year I was able to get a few trout, but that was from a boat.

we got salmon here pinks are up to 5 million and just starting to flood into the main puget sound and the tributaries! king run is about over and silvers in a month and we got resident (all year round ) salmon fishing on piers depending what marine area you fish inand we got resident chinook (blackmouth) and silvers! good luck! I fish edmonds pier alot so if you ever fish there at all im all ways down there!
