I went trout fishing with a buddy today. It was cold, windy, and the fishing wasn't too great. Couple guys fishing out. Few on the dock, few on their boats. Not many fish caught. We trolled with a green wedding ring and a red Dick Nite. Trolled for 30 minutes before a bite came. Didn't stay on. Finally got up to the bay the farthest away from the dock. Got a huge hit on the five foot light action Shakespeare rod. Drag singing and fish on. Ripped a couple of runs on me and jumped once near the boat. Finally got it in the net. A huge Brown trout. Got the hook out and hooked it on the stringer. When I got home, I put it on the scale. 2.5 pounds, 19 inches. Fat brown trout. One of 3 fish caught out of the lake from 7:30 to 3:00. A slow day. Tried pop gear and worms, no luck. Next Year!
