I fished with fellow member MattyG last evening. We arrived at the lake a little before 6p. The parking lot had only 1 trailer and the shore was occupied with swimmers and only 1 older fella fishing from the bank. We anchored about 100 yards from the ramp, not sure what the water temperature was, but felt like bath water. The fishfinder marked ton's of fish and came true with my first fish on the very first cast. We both were bottom fishing in about 25-30 feet depth using crawlers off the bottom. I easily caught my limit within an hour. Matty struggled to find a bite, catching 2 smaller perch and zero trout. The bite slowed a bit and we went directly across the ramp and anchored close to the shore so I could fish for bass while Matty could fish for trout. I was tossing my favorite senko casting toward the shore. I was kinda screwing around and hurriedly retrieved my senko and was met with a violent strike. It felt like a decent bass, but was shocked to see a silver flash. This is the 2nd trout I have caught fishing for bass. Matty acted like we were in Rome and tied on a senko too. And of course, he catches one not a minute later, but his measured 18 inches. We fished until dark and I did catch and release a small dink, but no pigs. These fish are going to be rubbed in spices and panko for some fish tacos.
