WOOOW!!!! Is this lake ever LOW!!!

The floating dock at the launch is almost completely on dry ground! The launch itself is very sketchy, so go slow! The deepest water I could find was 5.2' deep. There was a stain to the water on the east side, in the middle, and almost all the way over to the west...however, this is where I found some clearer water and pads to fish. Buzzbait and frogs were the name of the game for me, I took turns fishing open pad fields or the heavy matted goo that covers almost everything else!!

The wind was blowing pretty good 10-15mph as is usually the case on this lake, so I motored into it and let it push me back through all the vegetation...it was nasty! At one point I took video with my phone of the giant goo island I was pushing along in front of my boat, it was about 4" thick, five feet wide from the side of my boat and wrapped around the back! I had both motors pulled completely out of the water, otherwise when you got into this stuff you would just stop. I managed to catch two and lose one. Other than topwater I tried texas rigged worms, swimbaits, spinnerbait, jigs, a floating top-prop, and even senko's!;)

Only thing that I caught them on was a black buzz! I did have one bass about two inches long attacking the tail of my 5" Powerbait swimbait! That was good for some comedic relief! It was a battle fighting the weeds and goo for sure!! Even while motoring back into the wind, I would have to stop my motor, raise it completely out of the water and clean it and the back of the boat every 30-50 yards!

Again water temps were in the low 70's.....I may stay away until October and hope some water fills this thing in?
