Fished the BASS Federation qualifiers this weekend. Man it was tough out there Saturday and Sunday. There was a decent largemouth bite on topwater in the morning. The smallie bite however was pretty non exsistent. On Sat. I managed 1 largemouth for 2.66lbs and my non boater got 1 smallie at 3.27lbs. Sunday I had a better day as I got two good largies right off and followed it up with 2 smallies at our first smallie hole. The smallie bite I eventually figured out. Had to sit on top the weedline and cast out into deeper water and bring the bait back into the weedline to get a bite. I finished up in 3 on Sunday with 12.31 lbs. Went out later in the week on Thursday and the bite was still real tough. Managed to get 5 smallies in the boat with a combination of dropshot and dragging lizards on a carolina rig.
