It's been a while since I came out to this lake. I had a nice day on the water and managed to catch some fish.
My biggest was probably about 2-1/2 lbs. That was my favorite, because it was off of a mis-cast. I was targeting logs mostly. This particular one, I was casting up the side of the log and reeling in along the length of the it. Well I missed the cast and went on the other side of log, in between it and another shorter log, meeting together to form a 'V' shape. Just as I was cursing, my lure hit the water with a louder splash then what I would expect. I was pulling back, trying to keep it from getting snagged (like most of my mis-casts do), when it splashed some more. Then I knew it was a hit.
I was casting texas-rigged plastics. I started with a 5" green worm at first, but got no bites on it. I switched to 5" watermelon twin-tailed grub, started getting bites, and stuck with that pretty much the rest of the time.
There's definitely some fish in there. After some more practice, I think I'll find more of them.
