Where to start? Hmmnnn,my son taught me how to catch fish.
We arrived around 1:30PM at the launch with heavy rains. So we waited for a break
in the weather which came just a few minutes later. Started for the south end but only
made it halfway down and began working the logs and pads on the otherside of the lake.
Saw a few bass in the 1-2 pound mark cruising the shallows but had no interest in food or at least what I was offering. Ended up working the shoreline(still in the boat) 20 yards east of the launch. My son hooks a dinker bass on the old worm and bobber in about 4 feet of water.
Hmmnnn?! I think to myself...might as well join him,so I rig up another kiddie rod and get a little
bluegill, followed by a little bass. The rest of the trip went like this...all small but had to be one of
the funnest trips. My son schooled me and caught the biggest bass of the day...no official
measurement but around 7-9 inches. All fish were caught in between 3-8 feet of water and
very close to the shore(anyone stuck on the bank,no worries....you can easily catch 'em)
We also had an encounter with a ticked off and hungry river otter..I will put this up in the bass
forum a little later. All fish were released
Weather was breezy at times with some light drizzle.

Mission 2

Prior to our arrival,I grabbed several large trashbags from the house.
After fishing,my son and I picked up 5 bags of trash along the bank and parking lot.
Sad to say...this didn't even dent the overall picture but I hope that this at least helps
a little and teaches my son the importance of taking care of the lakes we fish.

Also got to give our friends at the Pierce County Sheriffs Office a big pat on the back,
I spoke to a deputy who was making the rounds through the Kapowsin parking lot, keeping
the trouble makers at bay. These folks work hard and are helping us take "OUR" lake back.
