wow. really surprized this is the first report here since my last one a month ago. we fished both saturday and half a day on sunday and the catching was a little slow, but still productive (as you can see). water temp was 64*-65* and it was sunny and hot all weekend. this probably explains why the fish were a bit lethargic and were biting very softly. we started at daybreak on sat and had our first fish on within a half hour, and by noon we had caught and released more than a dozen fish (mostly dinks), only keeping one 3 1/2 pounder. shortly after 1300 we landed a 7 pounder and continuing to fish til about 1500, catching and releasing 4-5 more fish. kept just the 2 fish for the day. sunday was about the same as saturday fish-wise, and we released probably 10 fish or so by noon, keeping only one that was almost the twin brother of saturdays fish. he weighed in at 7lb 4oz. we did get bites on flies, rappalas, and a few other lures. but most of the fish were caught on modified wedding rings. can't really say the fishing was fast and furious, but it was fairly consistant and it was an awesome weekend on rufus.
