First,I need to thank all the folks who gave me a wealth of information on
this lake.I would thank everyone by name but I know I would forget a few.
Your valuable input provided my family and I with great memories.

I would also like to thank the staff at Silver Lake Resort, who treated us as family..we really
felt like we were home.

3rd,I'd like to thank the guests at the resort. Like being around old friends.

Friday(Oct 2)
Arrived around 4PM and tried for bass, using a 6 inch senko but gave that up fast
when my son pulled up a crappie(approx 5 inches) on a blue/white jig. I then grabbed
a few Roadrunner jigs and twitched them about 3 feet off the dock. I was using blue/metallic
grey but color didn't seem to be a big issue. The family and I caught and released
tons of crappie....easily over 30 with a few 9-11 inches but most between 5-8 inches.
The crappie bite never stopped but we did around 11pm. Caught one bass in the mix
off a jig,just a dink at 7-8 inches.

Saturday(Oct. 3)
On the water around 7AM. The morning bite was a bit slower,I was on the hunt for bass with
a jig. I had one solid bump and that was it. I then tossed a few crankbaits and finally
hooked up with a single lmb at around a half pound. Then tried for the crappies again...
couldn't keep those guys off the line. In the evening,we were back on the dock
using a variety of lures and worm/bobber. My wife was getting perch and crappie, which
seemed like every other cast, she even caught a few small bass in there as well.

Sunday(Oct. 4)
On the dock around 8AM,had to sneek out of the cabin while the family was sleeping in.
While on my way to the dock,I heard of a bass being caught and released at 6.4lbs
just off the lilly pads to the west. I was thinking maybe I should motor over there and
find his friends but I decided to pitch around the logs from the dock for a bit.
Made a few casts and hooked up with this bass(photo) not a hawg by any means but
a ton of fun and would also be the largest bass of the trip. Caught him on a white spinnerbait..
I was burning it pretty fast. Thanks to Jim for taking the photos,(I'll call you soon for a
Kapowsin trip) Took a break and headed up to Mt.St.Helens for a couple hours.
Came back and started catching crappie and perch again.
The evening had a great sunset...I believe it was a harvest moon.

Monday (Oct.5)
Knowing this was my last day,I forced myself to wake up early, even though I was dead tired.
I wanted to get out on the water before sunrise...well I was up but my eyes had serious bags
and my motor skills had slowed, this, added with lack of visibility and unknown hazards of the lake,I again hit the dock, waiting for better light.Caught a few more crappies but all pretty small. I then hooked up
a half pound bass on an 8 inch Dunwright Life-Like Pike....yep,I was goofing around with the
musky gear and caught a bass,it was pretty funny and it certainly woke me up.
Finally motored the boat to the east of the lake and into an area loaded with pads. I believe
the public launch is down this way. The area looked like a bass haven and it might very well
be but we only caught 3 bass on a black spinnerbait and the average length was
about 10-11 inches but still loads of fun. We did find more crappie in here and my wife
schooled me and caught a hefty one at or around 10 inches...but certainly more football
shaped and loaded with fight.

Tuesday(Oct.6)
Back to the daily grind...................

Water temps hovered in the low 60's. While the weather was mostly sunny.
All fish were released.

We will be back,infact...the wife and I are thinking of making this an annual trip..but
of course,we will return in between those trips too.

Great report Kevin and awesome to hear of the great trip for you and your family. I agree with the annual trip as that was our discussion when we packed up and headed back home after camping out there in August. Now my brother-in-law just bought a house about 25 minutes away. I am sure my wife would love to take a trip to visit the nieces ... guess I will have to leave the fishing gear in the van ... LOL.
