After luanching at Magnuson Park we ran across the lake and started fishing at Hunts Point, trolling toward Yarrow Point at 1.2 MPH. We were fishing with lead core line/flasher and mini squid on one rod and a small black and silver plug on the other rod running about 60’ feet behind the downrigger release clip. Depending on meter marks we would run the downrigger at different depths between 30’ and about 75’. We stuck with the game plan for about 4 hours trolling Yarrow Point to Evergreen varying between the deep water and shallower areas. As an observation, it was noted that all the promising meter marks and clouds of bait were in the deeper water. After about 4 hours we brought the lead line rig in and started running a second rod off the downrigger. We did the change up a number of times throughout the day. Switching between dodger/mini squid, dodger/wedding band a small plug. We also changed colors, trying pearl, chartreuse, purple and orange splatter-back. We fished for about 6 hours and did not catch anything but the plug (a 1” Silver Horde plug) did have two good releases off the downrigger. Although we didn’t catch anything it was great fishing and the weather coroperated making for a very nice day.
