Ever have one of those days? Made it to the lake a lot later than I had planned, around 2:30 pm. Swift is definately dropping, I was told by some people in a RV that it had dropped 18 inches since the previous day! Started to back my boat in and accidentally rubbed my front fender of my Toy 4Runner on the dock side, ouch! Then, I got my boat into the water with some help from the people in the RV and started to motor off when I realized the stern was riding kinda low. Oh no! I forgot to put the plug in! :-( Back to the dock, I pulled the boat back out and turned on the bilge pump. Twenty minutes later I'm finally heading out on the water. Was told by several people in boats that the fishing was really good, and even though it was getting late in the day I decided to head towards the dam and find my favorite spot. Began trolling and instantly caught a salmon (not sure exactly what kind) about 12 inches. Trolling along with my downrigger about 40 feet in about 130 feet of water I wasn't paying close enough attention when suddenly I was in like 35 feet of water! The pancake weight got caught in something on the bottom and a few minutes later I was looking at the snarled end of my broken downrigger cable! Auggghhhh!! What else I'm thinking? Well fortunately the fish were actually close to the surface and I began trolling with my gear just under the surface. In all I landed about 7 (released 2) of these (landlocked silvers?) and kept enough for the frying pan. Very tasty! But it didn't exactly make up for the bucks I have to spend now to replace/repair everything. Oh well, at least my boat isn't sitting on the bottom of the lake!

Tight lines, and if you plan to go there go this week! The lake will probably be too low to launch after that.

Sorry, no pics this time, my camera would have probably been dropped overboard anyways! :-(
